All around the hangar deck were various spaces dedicated to the support of the different aircraft and their equipment. Three elevators connected the hangar deck with the flight deck.
Upon detaching from the Home Fleet in November, Ranger returned to the US and assumed the role of a training carrier. Once it was decided not to modernize the ship, she became a night training carrier and was moved into the Pacific, where she continued her training duties until August 1946.
